Abstract
Florentin Smarandache introduced neutrosophic statistics (NS), a formalism for representing uncertainty and indeterminacy in observations, parameters and statistics in an extension to classical and interval statistics. Although widespread in various contexts, such as statistical quality control, hypothesis testing, medical diagnosis, and decision science, and increasingly used and developed, the scientific evolution and conceptual framework of the science of decision making remain largely unexamined. To fill this gap, the present study has been conducted with a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of NS research articles published between 2003 to 2025 from Scopus which has been conducted following the SPAR-4-SLR protocol. In all, 501 publications were found with 6,382 citations. The results show a significant citation tail, with 75.26% of publications cited at least once and 3.31% of publications cited over 100 times. Author-, institution and country-based analyses reveal a clearly established research structure consisting of the stream of applied research led by Muhammad Aslam, King Abdulaziz University, and the theoretical base of the field, represented by Florentin Smarandache and the University of New Mexico. Pakistan turns out to be a prominent contributor while China, India and America are connected to theoretical and applied research streams by citation influence. The journal ``Neutrosophic Sets and Systems'' is regarded as the top scientific journal for the publication. Quality control and acceptance sampling are identified as the major applications of the thematic analysis, and plithogenic statistics are identified as a new theoretical direction. In general, NS is a growing and increasingly specialized discipline with close international ties and with many avenues for further research and development via plithogenic and multivariate statistical generalizations.
